Leigh Klar, DVM

I am a New England native that is now a Midwest transplant. I received my DVM from Ross University and completed my clinical year at Tufts University in 2017. I worked in a very high-paced private practice outside Boston MA after graduation. As my love for surgery grew throughout my time in Boston, I was able to receive 1:1 training from a traveling board certified surgeon for 1 1/2 years while also working as a general practitioner. I went on to complete a 1 yr surgical internship in Chicago in July of 2024. I then joined my husband in Minneapolis after completion. This past year, I enjoyed relief work in many different settings – emergency medicine, urgent care, and general practices in the Minneapolis metro area. I am very excited to join Westgate and really set roots down. My interests include surgery (orthopedic & soft tissue), emergency medicine, and internal medicine cases. My husband and I have a cat named Richard Parked that we love dearly! Outside of work, I enjoy reading, working out, soccer, snowboarding, tending to my plants, and spending time with family. I lived my adult life in Boston, MA so a “wicked” might slip out in conversation.
